Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) is required for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The program includes 10 two-hour classes covering Reading Comprehension and Writing components, practice materials spanning various genres, and a mock exam with feedback, designed to improve students’ scores and readiness for the actual test.
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) measures whether or not students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of the literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
All students across the province write this test on the same date. The test usually takes place in late March or early April each year.
